چکیده

Introduction The objective of our research has been the development of advanced sensors that have the potential to: (1) minimize the environmental impact of energy conversion via control of combustion-generated pollutants such as NO, CO and unburned hydrocarbons; (2) reduce greenhouse gas (CO2) by improving combustion efficiency; and (3) monitor the fugitive emissions from greenhouse gas sequestration efforts. These novel sensors should enable a new generation of strategies for active monitoring and control of combustion and energy conversion technologies of the future.

Optimal SQUID based non-destructive test for detecting sub-surface defects with the help of advanced SQUID superconducting sensors and an experimental approach for optimal production method of these sensors from the YBCO superconductor materials

The conventional eddy current method for non-destructive inspection of welding joints has limitations that can examine defects to a certain depth below the surface of the sample and is not suitable for determining deep defects. This limitation can be overcome using the SQUID superconducting sensors. The nonstoichiometric composition of YBCO due to its superconducting temperature and desired cri...

Smart Sensors for Advanced Combustion Systems

Introduction This research is directed at the development and application of a new class of optical sensors, based on absorption of light from tunable diode lasers, which enable in situ measurements of temperature and gaseous composition, in real time and in a variety of research-oriented and practical energy-conversion systems. These sensors have significant potential to enable exploratory res...
